Our facilities
The centre itself is a non-institutional, homely environment
finished and equipped to a very high standard. At it’s heart
is the day room, where patients can enjoy a tasty home
cooked meal on their own or in the company of other guests
and carers, whichever they prefer. After the meal, patients
can relax or let off steam in our comfortable lounge and
adjoining conservatory. If they need to sleep or just unwind
in a more private space, two well-appointed rest rooms are
here to welcome them. The centre also has extensive and
well-tended gardens with sitting areas, mature trees and
great views out over the surrounding countryside. The
hospice is fully equipped to offer assisted bathing; our
bathroom has both a level-access shower and a hydraulic
bathtub with patient lift, enabling our guests to bathe in
complete safety and comfort. This service is of particular
benefit to those with limited facilities at home, and is a
great way to help our patients de-stress and rejuvenate.
Next to the bathroom is the therapy room – a cosy space
where guests can enjoy a range of complementary therapies
including reflexology,
aromatherapy and
massage. We are also
pleased to offer treatment for the symptomatic relief of
lymph oedema. Food is an extremely important part of the
hospice experience; the therapeutic effect of a great meal
should not be undervalued! Guests are often overwhelmed by
the choice of dishes we can offer at any one time. We take
care to ensure that meals are beautifully presented, using
only the freshest natural ingredients, as well as being
fully compliant with individuals’ dietary and health
requirements. All this we offer completely free of charge.
