One of our core strengths is that the hospice is staffed entirely by volunteers. A board of trustees heads our organisation, whilst a hospice manager fulfils the daily administration and supervision of a care team made up of therapists, carers, a chef and various volunteer staff. All senior staff are full time members of the Skanda Vale monastic community, and as such, have fully committed their lives to the love and care of all forms of life.

This commitment is unwavering; some of our senior staff have worked for the hospice since the very beginning. We are a highly skilled team, with many years experience. Our carers and therapists are fully qualified, registered and insured. We also run an ongoing programme of in-house training for all staff, that mirrors and exceeds recognised standards and includes a full criminal record bureau check for new recruits.
