Dear friends and colleagues. We’ve been beavering away, working on some big ideas and would now like to invite you to come and help us put them into action.
New companion service
As many of you will know, throughout the pandemic we’ve been offering much-needed support to our existing patients via phone and email. But we really want to do more.
So this April, we will be extending this remote support to include new patients and their carers – we’ll be offering simple companionship and emotional support. This, we hope, is a project for the long-term, as we fully intend to continue after the pandemic lifts.
Right now, we’re completely revamping our companion training program and will be inviting you to help us very soon. More details to follow in the next update.
New management team
We’ve reorganised our management team. Four new managers will provide closer supervision and collective oversight, so we’re able to make decisions much more quickly and efficiently.
The management team will be made up entirely of volunteers. We’re currently advertising for the new Head of Care and Head of Operations, plus the following support roles: Workforce Development Manager, Patient Assessor, Lead Companion and Lead Nurse.
