Companion service
We offer a confidential listening service for people with life-limiting illnesses. It’s a chance to have a matched companion to speak with about any issues that are important to you. We can also connect you with other services if needed. Our companions can offer you quality time either by phone or online, whatever suits you.
New patients are welcome to get in touch with us directly, or someone can contact us on your behalf. We can tell you more about what we offer and see how best to support you.
Volunteer companions
Everyone is welcome to play their part in the development of this exciting new service. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided. If you can spare one or two days per month, then we would love to hear from you. We’ll offer:
- New life skills.
- An opportunity to support those who might otherwise feel lonely and isolated.
- A chance to work with positive like-minded people.

If you’d like to find out more about using our companion service please get in touch using the form below, or call us on 01559 371222. We look forward to hearing from you!
Please note: After you press ‘Send’ you should see a “Thank you” notification which lets you know the ball is rolling. Please don’t leave the page until then. You should also receive an email saying we’ll be in touch – but just to make sure, it’d be great if you’d drop an email to hello@skandavalehospice.org (that way we can keep a lookout for your form).
