Join us for a vibrant evening of authentic Indian dining, featuring performances from professional classical musicians, and traditional dancing.

  • Venue: Skanda Vale Hospice, Saron
  • Tickets: £16 each – available online via Eventbrite, or from our Newcastle Emlyn shop.
  • Dinner: An authentic three course Indian buffet.
  • Auction: Bid for a variety of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including a mudbath with Valli our temple elephant!

Parking in the hospice itself is quite limited so please share lifts where possible.


Rajesh David

Indian singer and musician Rajesh David with harmoniumRajesh David is an accomplished and versatile singer and composer, trained in Indian classical music. Born in India into a family of singers, he was an A-grade artist for the All India Radio and Television.

His compositions, influenced by Indian classical and folk traditions as well as contemporary music are inspiring, energetic and heart opening.

As a singer in Tŷhai he bridges the music and culture of the Celtic world and India: singing in Hindi, Sanskrit, English and even Welsh (he is a Welsh language learner), as well as the musical language of sargams, taranas and bols.

He enjoys working with musicians of different genres, bringing music and cultures together.


Kona Veena Pani

Kona Veena Pani - Carnatic vocalist

Kona Veena Pani was born on Oct 1st 1972 in Assam into a Telaga family community. Her early upbringing was steeped in music culture at her home town Visakhapatnam. She began her formal training at the age of 12 years.

Veena completed her Diploma in Carnatic Vocal in the year 2007 with distinction, then completed her Masters Degree in Music in 2009, bagging a Gold Medal.

After passing M.A, she set out to pursue her professional career, creating a name for herself by performing in various places like Visakahapatnam, Hyderabad, Bapatla, Mysore, Puttaparthi, Kerala. She also had a privilege to perform in Nada Neerajanam Tirupati in 2013.


Kirtan Pete + full band

Peter Barrett brings his full band to Taste of India. Expect some high energy kirtan and bhajans!


Debdatta Mallick

Debdatta is a highly skilled classically trained Indian dancer, who will perform some traditional South Indian Bharatnatyam style dances, expressing the beauty of India’s rich cultural heritage.
