  • Additional training & support time: Up to 18 hours in the first month and 6 hours per month after that. More flexibility will be possible as Day Services increase and Respite services relaunch.
  • Location: Skanda Vale Hospice, Saron, Llandysul, SA44 5DY.

Warm hearts and willing hands are the hallmarks of our HCSWs and it is they who deliver much of the hands-on care at Skanda Vale Hospice. Our expectations of them are high because we want our services to be exemplary and we make that possible through quality training and support, teamwork and an inspiring environment that everyone loves to be in.

The care we provide happens in partnership with our patients as well as their families and friends. We use person-centred care plans to help them realise their goals and to keep their needs central to everything we do. If you are a ‘people person’ this way of working will resonate with you; the HCSW is a role in which your warmth and sensitivity can make a real difference.

What happens next?

We will be in touch in a few days for a follow-up chat and to arrange an interview. If successful, we’ll then ask for two character references from colleagues or professionals and begin your induction training. Then you’ll be ready to roll!

After you press ‘Send’ you should see a “Thank you” notification which lets you know the ball is rolling. Please don’t leave the page until then. You should also receive an email saying we’ll be in touch – but just to make sure, it’d be great if you’d drop an email to volunteers@skandavalehospice.org (that way we can keep a lookout for your form).
